Today on the program we will be discussing the 2008 run of Secret Six written by Gail Simone with art by Nicola Scott. This is one of, if not the best, villains turned anti-hero teams. Gail Simone’s writing makes this by taking a dark and often violent premise and elevates it by adding humor and heart. This is a very entertaining comic that proves that bad guys can be great. Even if they are horrible while doing it.
In addition to this we also talk about the new streaming service from DC (in association with Warner Bros.) called, appropriately enough, DC Universe.
This will feature all the DC properties including the animated stuff, the CW shows (maybe, that was unclear), Batman 66 and wonder woman retro series as well as some original series including Swamp Thing – which we are particularly excited for – and this leads to a brief discussion about streaming services in general.
So join us – Paul Matthew Carr and Brian K. Reese – for a lively and rambling and hopefully entertaining discussion on comics and comic related material.
