And we’re back…

On this episode we discuss Heir to the Empire the 1996 adaptation of the Star Wars novel by Timothy Zhan and the start of the celebrated Thrawn trilogy. Originally published by Dark Horse Comics it was scripted by Mike Baron with art by Olivier Vatine and Fred Blanchard. This is a “legends” story meaning its not in canon anymore but several elements including the character of Thrawn have made their way back into main current continuity.  And its a fun ride.

Also on the program we discuss the return of Conan (the barbarian not the O’Brian) to Marvel Comics the place where he called home from the early 70s to the mid-90s. And we also give our thoughts on the recent announcement by DC of John Ridley’s The Other History of the DC Universe. This will be a retelling of classic stories from the vantage point of marginalized and disenfranchised members of the DC family – an interesting opportunity to tell new angels on existing stories.

So join us – Paul Matthew Carr and Brian K. Reese – for a lively and rambling and hopefully entertaining discussion on comics and comic related material.
