On this episode we have a theme! Yes, its our first themed episode in anticipation of the upcoming release Blade Runner 2049 we have a Blade Runner-centric episode. Starting off the program we talk a bit about the original movie and the mistaken belief that Deckard is a replicant before diving into the 1982 official comic book adaptation of the movie written by Archie Goodwin with art by Al Williamson. This Marvel “super special” ran for two issues and its quality was…questionable.
But in addition to that our main topic will be the 2009 adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel that the movie was based on: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? This is a 24 issues, incredibly faithful comic from BOOM! Studios with art by Tony Parker that was released in 2009.
Also on the program we talk briefly about the death of Len Wein and his legacy and impact on comics.
So join us – Paul Matthew Carr and Brian K. Reese – for a lively and rambling and hopefully entertaining discussion on comics and comic related material.
